چکیده

Introduction . Abnormal bone remodelling process is one of the clinical manifestations celiac disease, which increases risk developing osteopenia conditions, including fractures. The median age for first fracture similar in disease and general population, but incidence higher patients with disease. Aim To compare anamnestic characteristics, anthropometric measurements laboratory test results children adolescents without Materials methods A total 151 aged 1-17 years were included study. Patients divided into two groups: those who had fractures their lifetime - 21 (13.9%) no 130 (86.1%) children. Results. frequency among study was 13.9%, while vitamin D deficiency reported 2.7 times more often than its optimal level (p = 0.019). Vitamin detected 20 (95.2%) fractures, levels 30 ng/ml or found 1 (4.8%) child. In group 25(OH)D observed 43 (33.1%) cases. It that a significantly lower osteocalcin 26.9 (15.6; 32.9) < 0.001), C-terminal telopeptide 1.9 0.01). PTH concentration 34.6 (19.6; 54.7) pg/ml, whereas it 24.2 (17.1; 39.5) pg/ml 0.1). Conclusion Due to elevated severe deficiency, predominance osteoresorption over osteosynthesis tubular bones. important maintain monitor biochemical markers metabolism assess processes formation resorption.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS AND DIAGNOSIS OF CELIAC DISEASE IN CHILDREN

Celiac disease (CD) is defined as a permanent intolerance to gluten with clinical manifestations and abnormal small intestinal mucosa. A case series study was performed to obtain information about clinical manifestations, age of presentation and diagnosis of CD. For this purpose, hospital records of patients who were admitted to the gastrointestinal ward in the Children's Medical Center from 1...

Evaluation of bone mineral density and bone metabolism in children with multiple bone fractures.

BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to carry out a comprehensive analysis of determinants of multiple bone fractures in children with regard to densitometric indices and markers of bone metabolism. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study involved 112 children aged 5-18 years, including 81 patients with a history of at least 3 bone fractures and 31 healthy patients in a control group. Total body and sp...

Celiac Disease, Gluten-Free Diet, and Bone Mass Density

Background: Celiac disease (CD), as an autoimmune disease has initiated since ingestion of food containing gluten. Constant intolerance to gluten causes damages of the small intestinal mucosa. One reason of mal-absorption in children and infants is CD. Additionally, about 75% of newly identified patients with CD have low bone mineral density (BMD). Many factors have role in metabolic bone disea...

Regulation of Bone Metabolism

Bone is formed through the processes of endochondral and intramembranous ossification. In endochondral ossification primary mesenchymal cells differentiate to chondrocytes and then are progressively substituted by bone, while in intramembranous ossification mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) differentiate directly into osteoblasts to form bone. The steps of osteogenic proliferation, differentiation,...
